GREEN BAY, Wis. (Reuter) - Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre gets back one of his favorite targets this Sunday when wide receiver Antonio Freeman returns from a broken left forearm.
Freeman had been the Packers leading receiver before being hit by Tampa Bay safety John Lynch in Green Bay's 13-7 win over the Buccaneers on Oct. 27. He had 31 receptions for 481 yards and five touchdowns in eight games.
Freeman is expected to play Sunday against the Chicago Bears, but the team has yet to announce whether he will start. It has not yet determined whether he will play with a cast.
The Packers receiving corps has been crippled by injuries with Robert Brooks and tight end Mark Chmura also sidelined. Green Bay signed Pro Bowl end Andre Rison last week to help pick up the slack. Rison caught five passes for 44 yards in Sunday night's 24-9 victory over St. Louis.
Green Bay (9-3) is tied with San Francisco for the best record in the conference, but defeated the 49ers earlier this season and hold the tie-breaker. The Packers lead the Washington Redskins and Carolina Panthers by one game and Dallas and Philadelphia by two.
