Steelers' Tight End out after Knee Surgery

PHILADELPHIA (Reuter) - Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Mark Bruener had surgery on his left knee Wednesday and could miss the rest of the regular season.

Bruener injured the knee in Monday night's 24-17 win at Miami when he made his only catch of the game. For the season, he has just 12 catches in as many games -- all starts -- for 141 yards and no touchdowns. But the Steelers' running game has benefited from his blocking ability.

Pittsburgh (9-3) leads the AFC Central and visits the Baltimore Ravens Sunday in a divisional game.

Wide receiver Yancey Thigpen, who has battled injuries all season, also will miss Sunday's game with a strained arch in his left foot. Linebacker Chad Brown is listed as questionable with an ankle injury.
