To browse the Netflix site and add movies to your Rental Queue, you must turn on your cookie feature in your browser's options or preferences selections now. To turn on the cookie feature in your Internet browser, we suggest you follow the steps in your browser's help section, options or preferences selections now.

Cookie Error Message
Netflix uses cookies to make our service safe and more convenient. If you receive an error message about cookies when you attempt to add DVDs to your Rental Queue, chances are your Internet browser does not have "cookies" enabled.

To browse the Netflix site and add movies to your Rental Queue, you must turn on your cookie feature in your browser's options or preferences selections now. To turn on the cookie feature in your Internet browser, we suggest you follow the steps in your browser's help section, options or preferences selections.

If your browser does not support cookies, please upgrade to a more recent version. Netscape Navigator 2.0 and above as well as Internet Explorer 3.0 and above support cookies. We also recommend that you upgrade to the latest versions of Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer (4.0 versions and later are available) to get the most up-to-date, built-in security and personalization features available.

Enabling Cookies in Internet Explorer 4.0
To enable cookies using Internet Explorer 4.0:

  1. Go to the "View" menu and select "Internet Options."
  2. Select the "Advanced" tab.
  3. Scroll down to the "Security" section.
  4. Once you're in the "Security" section, scroll down to the "Cookies" section.
  5. To enable cookies, you may select "Always accept cookies" or "Prompt before accepting cookies."
  6. Click OK.
(Security tip: You can control the who, why and when Web sites attempt to give you cookies by choosing "Prompt before accepting cookies." This software control will send you a message asking for your acceptance or disapproval when a Web site tries to send a cookie to your browser. When this message appears, you can simply say "yes" or "no" to accept or decline the Web site's cookie. But remember, you must accept the Netflix cookie to add items to your Rental Queue.)

Enabling Cookies in Netscape Navigator 4.0
To enable cookies using Netscape Navigator 4.0:

  1. Go to the "Edit" menu and select "Preferences."
  2. In the Category window menu (the vertical list on the left-hand side), select "Advanced" by clicking one on the word "Advanced."
  3. In the "Cookies" section, we suggest you select either "Accept all cookies" or "Accept only cookies that get sent back to the originating server" AND "Warn me before accepting a cookie."
  4. Click OK.
